When it comes to moisturizing all that you need is mainly during wash day. Here is a week routine that can be modified to your desired preference;
On wash day you should treat your hair as you would on any other day, and any other season.
- Pre treat hair. Pre treatments, can minimize hygral fatigue (hair gets fragile due to the constant wetting and drying of hair) …
- Cleanse with a co-wash, shampoo or clarifier. Choose a cleanser of your choice. I normally go for the co wash.
- Deep Condition. Deep conditioners help to maintain the health and moisture level of hair.
- Leave in. Leave-ins help to soften, detangle, and keep the moisture level up during the week.
- Styler. Style as desire
- Seal with a light oil.
Mid week you may feel like you need a little moisture, so apply a good moisturizer lightly and your hair should be revamped. Moisturizing this way will help you not get so much frizz, or the feeling of greasiness in your hair. You will have light fluffy hair for the week.
The reason you don't have to worry about moisturizing everyday is that the summer heat and humidity gives your hair moisture. And if you add heavy moisturizers every day, your hair will begin to feel heavy and frizzy.
*Do note that sometimes you cannot avoid humidity poofing your hair up, sometimes it rains too frequent causing a lot of humidity. And for this reason, you may have to embrace the poof or go in another direction, do a protective style.
