EverButter - How has your diet changed since being pregnant with your first?
My diet hasn't really changed since being pregnant other than to make sure more than ever that I'm getting a regular intake of healthy/clean fats & Omegas and concentrating on proteins like never before.
EverButter - What is your profession?
I work as a natural health practitioner as well as a natural hair stylist.
EverButter - What is your definition of being a Fabulous, Phenomenal, Fit woman?
My definition of being a fabulous, phenomenal & fit woman includes exercising daily self love practices (a salt bath, setting aside a few moments or more for meditation, deep reflection, and praise), allowing self to rest when necessary, making dietary choices that support the body & mind, and making life & love choices that nourish the body and mind.
EverButter - How do you stay in shape when pregnant and when you’re not pregnant?
I stay in shape (pregnant or not) by eating protein dense foods, clean fats (like avocado & wild salmon), drinking plenty of water (at least 80 oz each day), and making sure my carbohydrates are mostly complex. After being vegan for 10 years I'm much less religious about avoiding a good slice of cake or the occasional serving of white rice at a restaurant from time to time, BUT on a day to day basis my carbs are brown or black. Over consumption of wheat and the likes are one of the main causes of obesity in developed countries. I enjoy movement too, yoga, bike riding, walking all over the city.
EverButter - How would you describe your healthy lifestyle?
I would describe my healthy lifestyle as one of balance. I always strive to achieve and maintain homeostasis. When I eat food, I pay attention to how it affects me. Does it make me sleepy or irritable? Do I feel satisfied and happier after I eat? Over time this has become much more of a signal as to how healthy a food or even an activity is to me than vitamin content or the latest celebrity doctor recommendation. I spend time with people who charge me as opposed to those who drain me. I go places that inspire me. Whatever feeds my soul and feeds my cell, I make sure to do more of that & less of anything else whenever and wherever I can help it.
EverButter - Will you please go into the effects that an unhealthy diet have on one’s body?
I would encourage anyone who is considering becoming a vegan or just eating healthier in general to simply pay attention to how food makes them feel & take whatever time they need to make the transition. Whether you stop eating meat or refined foods gradually or cold turkey you will benefit & you will grow. Real food contains God's own creative energy or essence & as you increase your intake of that essence, it will show you where to go from there in a way that is specific and most beneficial to you & your body. I'd also like to encourage people to make sure you're drinking enough water from a pure source. Kangen Water is good. Alkaline Water. You can actually add lemon &/or blue green algae to your distilled water to charge or alkalize it. I highly recommend this as the body is and should be 80% water. When you drink water, cravings for toxic food decreases, your energy increases, your mind moves at a faster rate & you're better suited to handle life’s big or little stresses.
